Eight of our current 1st XI came through the junior setup and we are happy that we are able to be a good side in what is probably one of the top three amateur leagues in the country. We have a club policy now where there must be at least two juniors (under 17) playing in the 3rd XI every week. We know we are playing against really good players week in week out but ultimately we play our sport to win, we go out to win every match whether that be in the league or cup and to be able to achieve a winning medal with the current setup (both players and spectators) would be a very special feeling. Aside from that, the continued development of our youth players is something that needs to remain and as long as we continue with that development then we will be fairly healthy. “We have a couple of players in our 1st XI that may be coming towards the end of their careers in the coming www.sportip.biz 57
