Bromley Challenges “Sports clubs must remain current, always strive to offer a variety of activities and avoid the temptation to think that the old way is the best way. Consumer tastes are always developing, this remains the case for us as a cricket club, we listen to our membership and find ways of providing what they want. Financial factors are a key in supporting the successfulness of BCC, we work with several external organisations to raise much needed funds and will continue to do so to safeguard our future. Less people are playing cricket, so we need to refine our service, look after our junior membership and work at providing a sporting opportunity they wish to take part in – most of all making it fun!” Ambitions “Our ambitions over the next five years are to introduce a female and disability section to the cricket section, to have ten homegrown players playing consistently in the 1st and 2nd teams, to develop a player who goes on to represent a 1st class county, to continue to develop young players with a deep and long-lasting love of the game, to create and sustain positive links with schools and business within our local community, to improve our facilities within the club, these are community development projects and to ensure we have a continuity plan to ensure we survive another 200 years.” www.sportip.biz 29
