through the youth section and we
see that as an important part of our

Challenges
“Our biggest challenge moving
forwards will be retaining players
between the age of sixteen and their
mid-20s. We field four sides every
weekend and so we require a lot of
players to make up the sides and
I think the key for that is making
sure that everyone has a chance to
contribute in terms of batting and
bowling. I think if they don’t have
much of an opportunity that is when
people start being away and once
they miss a couple of weeks they
can drop out altogether. The other
challenge we face is that it is not
cheap to put a cricket match on so the
financial side is always a challenge.”

have had the plans drawn up so
hopefully we can complete that.
We’ve progressed in stages with the
facilities and that has been going
well for us and we will continue to
look to develop the ground. From a
playing perspective we hope that the
first and second teams are in their
respective Premier Leagues. From
then it will be a case of making sure
that we are sustainable for many
years to come.”
