lough CC was first established in 1849 and now has
more than 150 years of rich history and heritage. Some
of their most recent triumphs include winning Division 2
of the Home Counties Premier League in 2012, finishing
2nd in Division 1 of the Home Counties League in 2018 and
achieving ECB Club Mark accreditation in 2011.
They have also had a number
of famous players representing the
club such as Chris Lewis(Eng), Ian
Gould(Eng), Nanty Hayward(SA) and
Mohammed Talha(Pak). Cricket Club
Magazine recently caught up with Club
Secretary Goutham Shrikishna to find
out more about the club.
He told us, “I joined the club back
in 2012. It was an accident that I met
someone in Tesco who mentioned about
a cricket club in Upton Court Road. I
came one day to look at the facilities and

was surprised to witness great facilities
not far from where I lived so immediately
decided to join the club.”
“I am currently performing the
Club Secretary role. Considering we are
growing as a club with more than 130
youth members and 100 senior members,
how to bring in the structure to support
this growth and bring additional growth
to the club over next five years is the
biggest challenge of the role.
“The atmosphere here is very positive
with members prepared to contribute to
the success of the club. We had a great
season this year for both seniors and
colts. Our 1st team finished 2nd in the
Home Counties Premier League and
also finished in the top eight across
the UK in the Vitality Blast Club T20
championship. Our 3rd and 4th team got
promoted this season as well.
“It was a very productive season
with many youths demonstrating
improvement in their abilities and
enjoyment for the sport. Special mention
of our U19s, who have won the Berkshire
