We caught up with their Chairman Dominic Melville to find out more about the good work that the club has been doing lately. Atmosphere He told us, “I’d say we’re in a positive place at the moment. In terms of our senior teams, we are currently in a state of transition with new younger players coming through to the senior 48 Issue 42 Saturday teams and having a positive impact in them and these players were recognised in our 2014 end of season senior awards. We’ve invested time and money in improving our ground and associated equipment, which has led to us being consistently graded much higher than the average in the Thames Valley League. Off the field, we continue to be a welcoming club for new players and social members.” Present “I think our good start to the season is due to the structure that Duncan Johnson (1st XI captain) has put in place with good clear communication to his team of what’s expected of them in terms of training, during a game and afterwards, which has led to a fantastic team spirit within the 1st XI. On the field, our aim has to be promotion for the 1st XI back into Division 2 of the Thames Valley League, with our other 3 Saturday teams, at worst, remaining in their current divisions. Off the field, we have our biggest club event on the August bank holiday Monday when we have our annual 7-a-side competition. This is an all-day event, with the first match Thatcham Club Info - - Twitter : @Thatcham_CC - Found 1767
