Their sons and daughters now have a pavilion they can take pride in. That is very important as they are the future of the club.” Now all the hard work is done – for the time being at least – the players have been able to take part in the biggest game in the club’s 120-year history. To mark the pavilion’s official opening, Teston CC took on Lashings All Stars in a T20 game. Lashings, run by Maidstone-based bar-restaurant owner David Folb, have been entertaining crowds up and down the country for the past two decades. The Lashings XI, including stars such as Saqlain Mushtaq and Tino Best went on to win the fixture by 81 runs in what was a fitting way to open the new pavilion. Teston will now be able to look forwards to many more enjoyable occasions at their fine new facility.
