through injury or work commitments they have the option of
calling players up with a limited amount of disruption.
Gomersal is a club that is also able to offer some outstanding
facilities off the field and they can host events such as birthday
parties, weddings, celebrations, christenings, society meetings
and funeral teas. They can cater for sit down meals or buffets.
Their spacious bar provides a warm and friendly atmosphere
for families and friends to enjoy and they are able to hold 125
people standing, 75 seated. These facilities have the potential to
provide the club with a valuable source of income.
Gomersal CC appears to be a club that has everything in
place to enable them to look forwards to a bright and successful
future. Their Committee deserves tremendous credit for the
work that they’ve carried out to get to this point and Cricket
Club Magazine wishes them the best of luck for the future.
Award winning Robert Watts Estate
Agents pride themselves on their
family links to the areas they are
actively involved in and Gomersal is
no exception. All three directors live
within the village and they have three
offices within two miles. The firm has
been established since 1979 and has
40 experienced staff spread over their
7 office network throughout Bradford
and Kirklees, offering a staggering
400 years combined experience.
The thriving sales and lettings
departments are complimented
by an auction department and a
professionally qualified surveying side
24 Issue 41
and they can offer conveyancing,
financial planning and mortgages.
As one of the largest agents within
the area, they consistently sell more
houses within their main postcode
areas than their competitors and
their longevity is a testament to their
continued success.
They aim to combine all aspects of a
local business namely being friendly,
approachable and being good value
for money. A key factor for them
developing their links within their local
community is their support of grass
roots sport and their partnership
with Bradford City Football Club and
Bradford Bulls Rugby is matched by
their more local support of Gomersal
Cricket Club.
One of the directors, John Watts and
his son Charlie are actively involved
in playing for the Club at under 9 age
group level and they are delighted to
continue lending their support. This
well run and friendly club with superb
facilities which benefits the whole
community matches the attributes that
Robert Watts holds dear and long
may this special partnership continue.
