as Tino Best and Wasim Jaffer representing the side this year. Cricket Club Magazine caught up with their Media
Manager Fred Atkins to find out more about how they are getting along at present.
He told us, “Personally, I’ve been
involved here for about 14 years because
I used to cover them for the local press.
Chairman David Folb would tell me
he’d signed Brian Lara. I’d say ‘That’s
great David, but I’ve got a story about
the Sheppey Sunday League I want to
lead with.’
“Dropping a catch off Courtney
Walshs’ bowling was the most
memorable moment for me, I wouldn’t
call it my favourite though, that was
probably when I caught and bowled
Alvin Kallicharan in an exhibition
match, after bowling five wides in
a row!
