a terrific example of a
well-run club that plays
an important role in the local area.
Secretary Adam Dixon took the time
to speak to Cricket Club Magazine
ahead of the new campaign.
2014
He told us, “2014 was a reasonable
year for the club. We started by losing
a number of big players from the 1st
XI but we managed to recruit well and
secured the services of a good pro from
India. The 1st XI challenged for a top 3
place for most of the season before a
blip in form found us finishing 5th in
the league.
The 2nd XI had an outstanding season
finishing 4th in their league. We have
a young 2nd XI with most of the team
being under 19’s so for them to finish
as high as they did was a credit to
themselves. On the junior front we
were delighted to be able to field an
under 13 side for the first time in 3
years and establish an under 11 team
for the first time. We have had some
excellent performances from the young
lads in their first seasons and it’s been
great to see so many smiles on the lad’s
faces after they’ve enjoyed a game.”
