Club Captain Andrew Tute took the time to tell us more about the club and the good work that they’ve been doing lately. Involvement He said, “I have been involved with Acomb Cricket Club since birth really! My dad was a player, and then employee of the club, taking the job of club steward some 30 years ago, a position that he still holds today. He has also been our groundsman for the majority of this period. So it was in my blood from day 1, my christening was held in the clubhouse! I first played as a late replacement for the U16 side when I was 8 or 9, and managed to get a game one way or another most of the time after that. I broke into the men’s team (second team) when I was 14 and have probably only missed a handful of league games since then. A lot of people at ACC are ‘lifers’, and have been involved in the club for as long as they can remember.” 2014 “2014 was a very successful year for the club both on and off the field. The senior teams all finished towards the top of their respective divisions, with the first team capping this off by gaining promotion back into the Premier Division, after being relegated the previous season.
