Tennis - what a great game! Played competitively, socially or
just for sheer pleasure. It is also one of the most beneficial
forms of exercise for more mature adults.
Here at Bovey Tennis Club we have three excellent all-weather
lit courts set within the beautiful community ground where we
can play all hours. There is nothing more quintessentially
British than playing tennis on a Friday evening in summer
at the Recreation Ground; shrieks of pleasure echo from the
outdoor pool across the cricket field where children grapple
with the rudiments of cricket, with a bowls match being played
on the adjacent green.
Yes, tennis is played at the Recreation Ground where we
have an enthusiastic LTA coach Ryan Bougourd who coaches
juniors and adults alike. Juniors are coached throughout the
week in appropriate groups depending on age and capability,
and in his Back to Tennis session for adults on Tuesday nights
those who have not played for a while a
