Article Provided by Club Chairman Nigel Mountford
M
uch has happened at
Bovey Tracey Cricket
Club since the end
of last season. The
building contractors moved in almost
immediately. Extensive work has been
carried out on the provision of a path
from the car park to the pavilion, also
to the front elevation of the pavilion
with a new electronic scoreboard.
To the side a new roof over the
kitchen and former Umpires
room. Internally, a new
Umpires room has been
constructed at a higher
level accessed from a
new staircase.
The kitchen has
been enlarged with
new units and
equipment. The
entrance to both
changing rooms
has been altered
to the centre of
the pavilion.
Of
course,
none of this work
would have been possible without the
necessary funding. We are indebted
to Viridor Credits; The Bovey Tracey
Almshouse Trust, The Bovey Tracey
Town Trust; Awards for All; Sport
England; local businessman Ben
further upgrading of our Changing
Rooms and Showers, improved disabled
access, improved toilets including a
disabled toilet, Bar improvements and a
bigger ground machinery store.
Geoff Coish took on the role of
Project Manager and worked extremely
hard spending many hours in the
preparation of drawings, overseeing the
project and many administration
tasks. My thanks also go to the
small sub-committee who
oversaw the project which
comprised David Woods,
Catherine Causey and
Andy Bishop. They
all deserve praise
for the work they
all put in to ensure
a
successful
conclusion
to
Phase One.
We now turn
our
attention
to securing the
necessary funding
to complete Phase
Two.
Exciting Times!
Nock and members of our Club
who kindly made the money
available.
Planning for Phase Two began in
January of this year. This will include
