As chairman, not only do I get to do the usual chairman type
stuff, you know – litter picking, form filling, adjudicating over
player gripes, I also get the pleasure of maintaining some
excellent traditions including welcoming the MCC for its only
two day club outmatch in April. As it happens 2016 will be the
90th anniversary of this fixture.”
2014
“2014 was a bit of a comedown after 2013 at senior level. 2013
was a red-letter year for the club as the 1st XI secured a Cambs
Premier League title and T20 cup double. Winning both for
the first time in our history.
However 2014 was only able to yield our indoor team
winning the Kings Lynn & West Norfolk Indoor League and
our Sunday 2nds managed to round off the year by gaining
promotion as runners up in the 5th Division of the Rutland
League. Other than that player retention and unavailability is
the main problem and was a reflection of the National players
Survey that the ECB carried out last year.

The end of 2013 was also graced by our Harecroft Road ground
hosting the four day Minor Counties Championship final, so I
suppose 2014 was always going to prove a challenge.
Our juniors continue to amaze us, winning three age-group
leagues and keeping our 16 or so volunteer coaches very
busy.”
