Brockhampton
“When County commitments allow, I am the opener for Brockhampton Cricket Club, a position I feel honoured
to have. It’s a very friendly club and a great place to play cricket, it feels like going back to my junior cricket days. I
love the beautiful ground and it’s a good wicket to bat on, which as a professional batter is important especially if
you are trying to score some runs on a Saturday.
The club has the support of a great set of dedicated and passionate people behind the scenes as well as in the
teams. We would have liked to have retained our position in the Premier League, but I’ll be back playing for
Brockhampton Cricket Club this summer in the Birmingham League and hopefully help the club secure a return to
the Premier Division.”

birthday parties and we also have a close connection to
a local nursing home, where residents have a separate
access to come and watch cricket. We also get support
from the local community, so we see this as a key aspect
of what we do and are about.”
Challenges
“Our biggest challenge is keeping playing members
numbers up, being a village club in a county without a
university means we do lose players when they reach
higher education age. This is a constant challenge that we
relish to take on. We are always improving our facilities
and coaching methods and adapt to times moving on.
We see this as being essential for the growth and future
of Brockhampton CC.”
Ambitions
“Our ambitions are to continue to be the premier
cricket club in Herefordshire by being innovative
and forward thinking. We want to grow our girls and
Women cricket at Brockhampton and create pathways
and opportunities for their future, either in this county
or anywhere else in the world. But most importantly to
continue to give our members a place and a club they
enjoy being part of.”
