Cheltenham
“After an association with Cheltenham Cricket Club over the last few years,
DF Legal Solicitors with offices in Cheltenham, Stroud, Tewkesbury and Led-
bury, were delighted to accept an invitation from the Club and its Chairman,
John Mill, to jointly sponsor Cheltenham CC this season. Cheltenham CC is
a fantastic community Cricket Club with great facilities and hospitality and we
at DF Legal are proud to be associated with the club.
We are currently looking into providing club staff, players, members and fam-
ilies, involved with the club, with loyalty cards in order to provide a range of
legal services that we can deliver to card holders. We will be attending games
throughout the season and also host some of our business events and meet-
ings on the club’s premises and thereby introducing members of staff and
clients to the club and the facilities it has to offer.
From all of us at DF Legal, we would like to wish everyone associated with
Cheltenham CC continued success, and we look forward to a long and pos-
itive association with the club.”

One presents and despite a difficult start to the season,
due to forced changes through injuries and competing
commitments, we remain confident of the future.
It is our ambition to return our 2nd XI to WEPL
Gloucestershire and our 3rd XI are already well placed
to gain another promotion within GCCL this year. With
some seventeen very progressive Juniors playing 2nds
and 3rds in 2018 a similar statistic will also be success.
This season we have welcomed back from Cape
Town our successful overseas player Josh Breed and
the return of County players Gareth Roderick and
Liam Norwell who are joined by Gloucestershire’s Matt
Taylor. Returning players are a sign that we are doing
things right.
In looking to the future we believe we have an
obligation not only to our local community but to the
wider community and that we should fly the flag for the
North of the County. We are currently oversubscribed
from All Stars and Chance to Shine through all of our
junior teams to seniors, at which point we currently have
to lose some players to other clubs due to a lack of senior
teams. We need to introduce a 4th XI and continue to
grow our Ladies and Girls section, particularly as many
girls’ schools are moving from rounders to cricket, and
fully integrate them into the club.
We face the challenge of limited resources and new
regulations in the light of growing demand. We need
to improve our use of indoor facilities, locate additional
outdoor pitches and consider setting up our own
academy to aid the development of youngsters and the
growth of cricket within our region. We need to build
relationships with local clubs not only in cricket but in
other sports. Shared knowledge, ideas and resources,
particularly involving volunteers, will benefit us all. The
next five years should be exciting but we must look well
beyond that to ensure a truly sustainable future.
With over 120 years of history littered with
highlights including being two-time winners of the
National Knockout Cup during the 70s and National

U13 Champions on three occasions, we believe that our
return to Premier One should just be the beginning of us
writing our own history. This is our ambition.
Article provided by John Mill, Chairman CCC
“As a supporter of cricket and sport generally our owner, Tony, was keen to support Cheltenham Cricket Club upon
their return to WEPL Premier One. Along with the sponsorship we are also pleased to supply our wine to the club. We
get along to the club whenever possible and look forward to taking customers and staff to future events i.e. matches, Beer
Festival, Fireworks Night etc. All at Rude Wines are proud to be associated with CCC. We wish them well for this season
and look forward to a lasting close relationship.”
