Cricket Club Magazine recently caught up with Club Representative Sam Keir to find out more about the work they are doing at the moment. Present Sam told us, “On and off the pitch there is a really good vibe around the place at the moment. I think whenever you speak to the head coach the talk is of controlling what you can and playing the right way and taking each game as it comes. For the supporters I would say they definitely want to win promotion to the 1st Division of the County Championship and there is a big opportunity there with three teams going up. We’ve had our challenges with injuries and Jofra being away. It is fantastic for the club to see a player that we’ve nurtured setting the world alight. Obviously, we don’t get his services but we’re all so proud of him and that offers a chance for more young players to come through and represent the county.” Women’s Cricket “We’re very lucky in that our whole women’s programme is funding by a local benefactor, Sir Rod 10 Issue 50 Aldridge, who has been brilliant for the club. They have their own facility just outside Brighton which is fantastic for them. Progressing our women’s section is a major priority for us and we’re working to help the game develop at various levels as we want to be one of the leading lights in the women’s game.”
