TOULA ELEFTER As secretary of the Akron Chapter, Toula is an integral part of keeping the membership connected. Her Cretan heritage stems from her father and mother, both emigrating from Iraklio, Crete. Toula is recently retired from her 30-year teaching career and enjoys spending time with her husband, Steve, and two grown children, Kosta and Sophia. 2. THEODOROS KATERINAKIS Theodoros is a member of the Knossos Chapter of the greater Philadelphia area. He is also a Ph.D. candidate in Culture and Communication and Adjunct Faculty in the Greek studies program at Drexel University in Philadelphia. He is a native of Chania, Crete, Greece and his research focus is aviation communication, banking integrity and social network analysis. 3. BOB MARKAKIS Bob is the Culture & Education Committee chair of the PAA, the artistic director and choreographer of the Cretan Association of Toronto and the choreographer and one of the instructors of the Detroit chapter. He has been involved with different aspects of Cretan culture for more than 30 years. He is married to Olga Markakis and has three children, Christos, Nikos and Kleanthi. 4. CHRYSOULA TZORTZAKI Chrysoula has a degree in political science and a masters in political analysis. She has worked as Special Advisor of the Mayor of Malia on policy and culture affairs, press and public relations. She has occasionally written articles in magazines and newspapers on issues concerning politics, culture and Cretan tradition. She was member of PSK’s Convention Organizing Committee.
