Continued from page 8 What are your goals as president of the PAA? My goals as president are not unlike those of the presidents that preceded me—that is, to keep the PAA vibrant and strong and have it serve as the linchpin between Cretans in America and our roots. Our commitment to philanthropy, education and perpetuating the richness of our culture is something I value and hope to reinforce during my term. There are various elements within our organization designed to strengthen our ability to keep the PAA resilient. Working with the newly elected (and re-elected) board, I am optimistic that we can reach new heights in every area. Through the fundraising efforts of our Foundation, we will continue to grow the base of our treasury to fund projects and programs directed to helping those less fortunate, passing on the culture of Crete to our members­­— particularly our youth—and provide educational opportunities through our scholarship program.
