1. EMMANUEL BOUHALAKIS
Emmanuel is a journalist and teacher of English in
Heraklion, Crete. He has been the editor in chief
of the bilingual newspaper “Crete Today” and
author of many articles on politics, social issues
and education. He is a member of the Journalist
and Teacher Unions in Crete and abroad.
2. TONY J. KOCOLAS
(Kokoloyiannakis)
Tony is founder and first president of Chapter
617, the Alikianou Cretan Society of Fresno. He
teaches history at Merced College in Merced,
Calif. In addition to having written numerous
articles for various publications, he is currently
in the process of producing a PAA endorsed
documentary titled, “Our Greek Heritage: The
Greek Roots of Western Civilization.”
3. KATERINA MAKRIDAKIS
Katerina is president of the Pancretan Youth of
America. She is also a systems analyst at Abbott
Laboratories. She graduated Magna Cum Laude
and with University Honors from Northern
Illinois University in Dekalb with a dualdegree in computer science and operations and
information management.

4. DR. JOHN NATHENAS
KPHTH MAGAZINE | DEDICATED TO THE CRETAN LIFE
John is a surgeon, international leader and
founder and president of DIAS International
Academic Studies. He is also the founder and
first president of the Hellenic American National
Council (HANC), the Greek American Umbrella
Organization. He coordinated the largest ever
mobilizations and demonstrations of the
Omogeneia for the “Makedonian name problem,”
which took place in New York on March 14,
1992, at the White House at Ellipse Park on May
31, 1992, and at the UN on July 16, 1993. He
also gives informative university lectures on the
history and language of Greece and Crete. He
and his wife Mary have four children, Viki, Aliki,
Artemis and Nikolas, and six grandchildren.
