ARCHON Father Robert graduated from Holy Cross School of Theology in 1986, and is currently serving at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, where he also is the chaplain for the fire and police departments. Fr. Robert has a master’s in clinical psychology and is currently pursuing a doctorate in organizational leadership. He also studied at the Balkans Institute in Thessaloniki, Greece. He and his wife Caliope have two daughters, Erin and Nicole. 2. He has been the editorin-chief of the bilingual newspaper “Crete Today” and author of many articles on politics, social issues and education. He is a member of the journalist and teacher unions in Crete and abroad. Emmanuel is also the PAA’s correspondent in Crete. 3. DR. JOHN NATHENAS John is a surgeon, international leader and founder and president of DIAS International Academic Studies. He is also the founder and first president of the Hellenic American National Council (HANC), the Greek American Umbrella Organization. He coordinated the historical and largest ever mobilizations and demonstrations of the Omogeneia for the ‘Makedonian name problem,” which took place in New York on March 14, 1992, at the White House at Ellipse Park on May 31, 1992, and at the UN on July 16, 1993. He also gives university lectures on the history and language of Greece and Crete. He and his wife Mary have four children, Viki, Aliki, Artemis and Nikolas, and six grandchildren. 4. MARIA STRATOUDAKIS Maria immigrated from Chania, Crete, with her husband Nick, a member of the Omonoia chapter. They live in New York City with their three sons, Terry, John and Peter, members of the Omonoia and Labrys chapters. She is a member of Pasiphae, and previously served the chapter as president, vice president and secretary.
