PROGRESS AND PARTNERSHIP
Welcome from the Principal
I’m pleased to welcome you to the second edition
of The Crest Academy magazine. The past few
months have been transformative for Crest and
have been packed with many highlights, most
notably the fantastic results of our recent Ofsted
inspection and our best ever GCSE results.
I am particularly delighted that Ofsted have rated us ‘Good’ across the
board because it is a recognition of the hard work and ceaseless dedication of
all our staff, teachers and students. The report highlighted the huge improvements
the Academy continues to make in all areas. The progress that Crest is making
is there for all to see and we are focused on achieving our next ambition –
to be ‘Outstanding’.
The summer results period was extremely positive for Crest, with great
accomplishments on both GCSE and A-level results days. Crest is committed to
its vision of ‘Every student a leader, every student ready for university’, and I was
extremely proud to see our students achieve the results they worked so hard for.
I hope you enjoy reading the success stories of some of our inspiring young people
later in this magazine.
Since the summer, our new Year 7 students have been settling in to life
at Crest and are already making huge progress. Some have been back to their
former primary school to talk about their transition to secondary education, and
I was enormously impressed with the Year 7 students who spoke so confidently at
our recent open events. I am committed to developing partnerships with our primary
schools and we will continue to plan and host events for local children – such as
our upcoming reading event.
With community at the heart of everything we do at Crest, I am delighted
that we are able to share so many success stories, and I can assure you there
are many more to come. I hope you enjoy reading about the exciting times at
The Crest Academy, and if you would like to find out more please contact the
Academy and book a tour or personal meeting.
