Provides study-skills, instruction, learning strategy instruction and individual and small group tutorial assistance to promote student
progress in regular classes. Students will take one class each semester.

Prerequisite: 3.5 GPA and teacher recommendation
Helps in the tutorial assistance of students enrolled in Curriculum Instruction. As guided by the supervising teacher, students
enrolled with help with study skills, instruction and day-to-day organization of students enrolled in curriculum instruction.
Yearbook / Journalism Grades 10, 11, 12 ` 1 Unit Prerequisite: Intro to Journalism or Teacher Recommendation This course is a forum for student expression through publications and broadcasts. It will start the student off at the beginning levels of publications and broadcasting for the school, honing writing skills, organization and leadership skills in preparation for higher level positions on the publications / broadcast staff. Students will be responsible for the preparation, promotion, production and distribution of the school yearbook, newspaper and newscasts.
Yearbook / Journalism II
Grades 10, 11, 12

Prerequisite: Yearbook I / Journalism I

publications and broadcasting for the school, honing writing skills, organization and leadership skills in preparation for higher level
positions on the publications / broadcast staff. Students will be responsible for the preparation, promotion, production and

promotion, production and distribution of the school yearbook, newspaper and newscasts.
North Carolina Virtual Public High School Grades 9, 10, 11, 12 1 Unit NCVPS is an online public high school that provides courses for current high school students. Cleveland County High Schools offer NCVPS courses on a limited basis due to anticipated budget restrictions by state government. Students may register for NCVPS based on student needs and school approval. Selecting an NCVPS course will be considered an alternative course that may be scheduled during the summer of 2015. No college credit is given for these courses.
