ATTITUDE TOWARDS
LEARNING and
REWARDS
At The Crest Academy, we understand that outstanding Learning and
Teaching is a priority to allow all students to achieve their full potential.
All of our teachers, plan engaging and exciting lessons, focused around our ‘Crest
Essentials’. These are key ingredients, which we believe need to be present in
every lesson, to ensure that students make outstanding progress. Each Curriculum
Area, has planned engaging and exciting programmes of learning for each term, to
ensure that learning time is maximised.
Our Curriculum Areas, are staffed with hard working and committed staff, who have
strong subject knowledge along with a real belief in our vision of ‘every student
ready for university, every student a leader’. We know that it is important for
our teachers to continually develop theirr classroom craft and with this in mind we
have invested in a clear programme of development to ensure that our staff can be
the very best that they can be, and support your son/daughter to achieve their full
potential. Each Curriculum Area has a ‘Lead Practitioner’ who is an outstanding
classroom teacher, who’s primary role is to work with other colleagues to constantly
reflect and refine their classroom practice, ensuring that learning is maximised for
all students.
All of our classroom practitioners, also benefit from weekly ‘learning and teaching
coaching’ giving all teachers an opportunity to collaborate, share ideas and work
together to make their lessons as exciting and innovative as possible. Teachers
receive regular feedback on their classroom practice and participate in weekly
professional studies programmes to further improve their skills.
