When you love what you do , it just doesn ’ t seem like a job . John David Taylor lll has had this motto instilled in him for his whole life and now he is the owner of Covey Point Outfitters .
His business is fresh and new to Crenshaw County . Just getting his feet wet in the Fall of 2021 , John David Taylor is doing what he loves in a place where he belongs . Of course , this young man has many years and lots of dreams to pursue and plenty of time to get things done . He is ready and able , strong-minded and trained . A 2021 graduate of Crenshaw Christian Academy , John David depends on his youth , skill , and knowledge to teach , encourage , and continue to be a valuable contributor to the hunting society .
John David Taylor has always been passionate about hunting since he was big enough to hold a gun . He killed his first deer at the age of only 4 . He knows the importance of the sport . It is not just a sport . Hunting feeds people . Hunting brings people together . Hunting brings back a sense of peace . Reflecting on God ’ s creation while sitting in a stand waiting for that big buck to take a step out is like reaching back in time to when things were more simple . A time when hunting was survival . John David shares that passion for the woods through his growing business .
As with any other step in life , there are people that influence each step . Those put in place to cheer you on and lift you up . Two of John David ’ s biggest influences , those that helped him to grow in his love for the outdoors , was his father , David Taylor , and his lifelong turkey hunting partner , J . R . Roberts .
David and J . R . shaped John David into an avid hunter , guiding him to go big and teaching him patience .
John David ’ s love for the outdoors and outgoing personality helped him to gain the opportunity to train dogs in North Dakota this past summer with some of the best trainers in the game .
Since the trip to North Dakota , John David has worked tirelessly , planting food plots , checker-boarding fields , keeping his bird dogs in shape and making sure everything was 100 percent perfect and ready for his clients .
John David also had the privilege of taking several men from the “ Accept the Challenge ” hunting show pheasant hunting . John David said , “ God has blessed me and my family in more ways than I could ever imagine . It ’ s great to be able to wake up every day and do what I love the most . I have met so many new people already and made great friendships since I ’ ve opened my business .”
