Moana
The sixteen-year-old daughter of a hawaiian chief, Moana, sets off on an adventure with the demi-god Maui to restore the heart of Te-Fiti. (Look! Another Disney movie about love and the power of friendship. Still a better love story than Twilight.)
Arrival
When mysterious spacecrafts touch down across the globe, an elite team - lead by expert linguist Louise Banks - is brought together to investigate. As mankind teeters on the verge of global war, Banks and her team race against time for answers - and to find them, she will take a chance that could threaten her life, and quite possibly humanity. (Wow! I didn’t know you could take lines from Interstellar and still make a bad movie.)
La La Land
The story of Mia, an aspiring actress, and Sebastian, a dedicated jazz musician, struggling to make ends meet while pursuing their dreams in a city known for destroying hopes and breaking hearts. With modern day Los Angeles as the backdrop, this musical about everyday life explores what is more important: a once-in-a-lifetime love or the spotlight? (If I wanted to see a girl flying through the air, I’d watch the Super Bowl halftime show.)
The Red Turtle
Based on a French/Japanese fable where a man is shipwrecked on an island and meets a giant red turtle. Without any voicing, the Red Turtle tells the story of how the shipwrecked sailor falls in love with the turtle, who possessed the ability to turn human. (In an effort to uncover the truth, we asked Wikipedia and they told us: The red side-necked turtle (Rhinemys rufipes), red turtle, red-footed sideneck turtle,[1] William’s toadhead turtle, or red-footed Amazon side-necked turtle[7] is a monotypic species of turtle in the Chelidae family. It is found in Colombia and possibly Peru and Brazil.[7]).
