The primary challenge of the service is the anonymity of Safe2Tell. Reports are important but there are other avenues available to accomplish the same goal. Examples are calling 911 for things that require immediate attention, or calling the non emergency Police Department number for Longmont Colorado - (303) 651- 8501 for less urgent situations. The administration and counseling staff of our school are all open to direct office visits, letters, or emails as well. All of these options are fully acceptable for maintaining student safety. With each of these, you can request to remain anonymous. The benefit of these other reporting methods is operators or administrators are able to interact with you to obtain enough information to conduct a full and appropriate investigation.

Calling All Poets
Silver Creekâs very own whimsical and eccentric Philip Goerner spent his lunches last year hosting the hit event for many at Silver Creek, Poetry Slams. The meetings consisted of students expressing their innermost feelings through words interlaced with emotions which bled with passion. Being a literature enthusiast, Mr.Goerner has hosted poetry slams every year since the year he began working at Silver Creek, but this year is the first time ever he has experienced little student interest in the art of creating poetry.
With great sadness, Poetry Slams have not yet been started up in the year of 2017. If any spark of interest is hidden among the student body, Poetry Slams will be brought back to life once again in the Raptor Community. As a poetry expert, Mr. Goerner is calling out to all poets to come join him in the journey to getting the annual poetry slam back.
