I spoke with Coach Steward one of the head coaches for baseball and asked him a bunch of questions for Silver Creeks baseball team. I asked him “What his plans are for baseball season are?” He responded with “To help our players help themselves become the best baseball player and the best person they can be. To help our players learn how to learn. Learn how to be great teammates, how to be great baseball players, learn how to be great husbands/dads, learn how to be great employees. If we can accomplish these things then hopefully we can make a run into the state championship.” not only does Coach Stew want to win, but to also have his team succeed in life. Like he said “learn how to be great husbands/dads, learn how to be great employees.” He knows that his influence will not just stay with Students for their high school career, but for their entire life. Steward wants to improve the team saying that this in a interview “Learning from the tests (our games) will tell us if we are practicing correctly and focusing our energy on the things we can control to make us a better team.” Steward is really pushing the team this season. He treats all his student athletes and students as his own kids. This coach can really make a difference in anyone's life. He truly loves the game of baseball.
