decryption code will be with the election commission of India & he will put into the server for
the declaration of the final result. Before conducting the election a switch will be there in the
machine by which the balloting officer would be able to activate the machine. After every
single vote cast, the EVM will be automatically locked until the balloting officer presses the
switch to activate it.
4:-PRACTICAL APPLICATION
4.1:- ADVANTAGE OF UPGRADED ELECTRONIC VOTING MACHINE:
Voting will be centralised & more secure.
All data’s will be encrypted, then it will be sent wirelessly using GSM module to
avoid data theft & hacking (internally as well as externally).
The government of India will not have to spend extra expenditure to protect EVM
after election, & the money spend on the security will be saved, also enough time will
be saved.
It is economical
Less manpower required
Time conscious, as less time required for voting & counting
Avoids invalid voting
Saves transportation cost due to its compact size
Convenient on the part of voter
Greater transparency
Voting shall be more accurate; verification & counting will be much more easy &
accurate.
5:- SUMMARY
The upgradation of the present EVM shall be a step for the largest democratic country to
follow the transparency of electing the leaders & to follow the suit of honesty. We owe it to
ourselves & to our future to have robust, well designed election system to preserve the
bedrock of our democracy.
5.1:- FUTURE WORK:
In this paper, we have described the specification and architecture of an UPGRADED
ELECTRONIC VOTING MACHINE. Various fault-tolerance and security issues are
delegated to the platform itself, therefore relieving the application designer from
accommodating these features in the application design itself. This approach allows for the
easy development and deployment of applications.
In future if a thermal printer is interfaced in upgraded EVM then with the help of
embedded program stored in AT89C51 8051 microcontroller we will be able to produce
a paper print out of every single vote caste & later we can verify the result.
