STEIN COLLEGE ’ S

STRATEGIC PLAN

As dean of the Linda Berry Stein College of Fine Arts & Humanities , Dr . Timothy Snyder is driven by a singular aim : providing the College ’ s approximately 350 majors with the myriad benefits that a robust liberal arts education affords . “ As our students navigate the 21st century realities of the arts climate , they will be required to think critically , communicate clearly , and interact effectively in an increasingly interdisciplinary environment ,” he notes . “ A solid liberal arts education enables them to do just that .”

Heighten the student experience .
Encourage and support faculty excellence .
Now in his fifth year as dean , Snyder is currently overseeing a five-year strategic plan that he believes will both enable Stein College to realize this goal and elevate the University ’ s profile throughout the region .
Five goals in five years
In 2021 , the Stein College ’ s School of Performing Arts and School of Art & Design united with the School of Humanities to create the Linda Berry Stein College of Fine Arts & Humanities . “ The arts faculty have always had a close relationship with faculty in the humanities , and this merger makes those bonds that much stronger ,” says Snyder .
In April of 2022 , the College embraced the opportunities inherent to this merger with the unveiling of a five-year strategic plan designed to develop Stein College into a “ leading center of education , programming , and culture at the intersection of the arts , literature , languages , and philosophy .” The plan is built of five areas of activity , ranked in order of priority :
