MATERIALS :

• Tubular Pasta
• Food Coloring
• Water
• String or Yarn

DIRECTIONS :

1

. Select your choice of tubular pasta . Any pasta you can string through will do . I used Rigatoni , Pennette , Tortiglioni and Ditalini .

2

. Fill bowls half way with water . Put 10-20 drops of your choice of food coloring in each bowl and stir . ( The natural color of pasta can even be used as one of the colors , in which case , be sure to set some aside ).

3

. Distribute pasta evenly into bowls . Shift them around so they are completely immersed . Let sit for 4-5 minutes .

4

. Drain pasta and place on top of paper towel to help absorb moisture .

5

. Let pasta dry over night . This is very important . If pasta is not completely dry , they will crack once strung and hung ( I ’ ve woken up to cracked pasta all over my tree skirt ).

6

. Bead pasta using your choice of string / yarn . Bright colors that contrast against your tree or wreath work to further add a decorative element .
