MATERIALS: • Black or dark blue card stock paper • Packing tape • Scissors and a hole punch • silver glitter • A variety of white button and beads - Collect buttons and beads in a bowl. Get buttons of various shapes, sizes and shades. Dollar stores and craft stores usually carry fun button packs for scrapbooking and other crafts. You will need white for the snow and red (or any other preferred color) for the hat. DIRECTIONS: 1. In the center of the sheet cut out the shape of a snowman. You can sketch the design right there or download and transfer our pattern onto paper. Make holes with a hole punch to represent snowflakes. 2. Apply strips of tape to the back of the paper so that their sticky surface is exposed in the cutouts. 3. Invite your child to fill the cutouts with buttons and beads. They will adhere to the tape and make a collage. 4. After the collage is done, sprinkle it with glitter to fill the gaps between the buttons. 5. The more glitter...the better! 6. Write a Message at the Bottom TIP: If the little artist can write, invite him to write the message at the bottom or at the back of the collage. Alternatively, let him dictate and choose who he wants to give the finished picture to. 38
