MATERIALS: • Tubular Pasta • Food Coloring • Water • String or Yarn DIRECTIONS: 1. Select your choice of tubular pasta. Any pasta you can string through will do. I used Rigatoni, Pennette, Tortiglioni and Ditalini. 2. Fill bowls half way with water. Put 10-20 drops of your choice of food coloring in each bowl and stir. (The natural color of pasta can even be used as one of the colors, in which case, be sure to set some aside). 3. Distribute pasta evenly into bowls. Shift them around so they are completely immersed. Let sit for 4-5 minutes. 4. Drain pasta and place on top of paper towel to help absorb moisture. 5. Let pasta dry over night. This is very important. If pasta is not completely dry, they will crack once strung and hung (I’ve woken up to cracked pasta all over my tree skirt). 6. Bead pasta using your choice of string/yarn. Bright colors that contrast against your tree or wreath work to further add a decorative element. 50
