Third Annual Vocal Jazz Festival : Deke & The RiverTones
Featuring Deke Sharon , Guest Artist
Heralded as “ The father of contemporary a cappella ” by Entertainment Weekly , Deke Sharon has his a cappella fingers in many pies , arranging ( Broadway ’ s In Transit ), music directing movies ( Pitch Perfect 1 , 2 & 3 ), television ( The Sing Off , Peacock ’ s Bumper in Berlin , Disney + Best in Snow , BBC ’ s Pitch Battle ), directing professional groups ( Disney ’ s DCappella ), performing ( annual TotalVocal at Carnegie Hall ), coaching ( Lifetime ’ s Pitch Slapped ) producing albums ( Straight No Chaser ), tours ( A Cappella Live ) and events ( Camp A Cappella ), and publishing thousands of arrangements . All while teaching and promoting a cappella worldwide . Middle school and high school choir students will join the JU choirs for a two-day festival with a final concert open to the public . Part of CONNECT ! a choral season of collaboration .
