A . J . Freeman is a writer , teacher and performer originally from Los Angeles and now based in New York . For more than 12 years , she has worked in educational theater , directing dozens of full-scale productions and running her own literacy-based arts nonprofit for underserved students . A . J . will work with Musical Theatre students on her new production entitled Tomorrow , a Lincoln Center Library Billy Rose Theatre Division Grant Winner . Book and lyrics by A . J . Freeman . Music by Kristoffer Bjarke .
