Josette Bayoro, a Haitian designer, began her journey to fashion as a young girl making clothes for her dolls. After losing her mother at the tender age of three, Ms. Bayoro was left to raise herself and this act of self sufficiency spawn to her sewing her first dress at twelve years old. This past time activity evolved to a passion she would pursue every chance she was given, and with this, Joppa Couture came to be. Josette Bayoro is the author of the book, La Vraie Beauté, The True Beauty, a critically acclaimed novel according to Le Nouvelliste. La Vraie Beautè expresses the idea of what it is to be a virtuous woman. This concept is explained furthermore in the novel by biblical examples of those who exemplify the meaning of a being a virtuous woman.
