co-designed with and for people with intellectual disabilities . The NHMRC-funded project is engaging industry , government and community groups to help reduce premature mortality , preventable deaths and improve other health outcomes .
The researchers also partnered with the NSW Department of Education and 24 schools to develop My Say , My Way , an accessible survey toolkit that uses body mapping , photovoice and other arts-based methods to help students with intellectual disabilities convey their school experience . It is being rolled out state-wide following an effective trial with 150 students with moderate and high support needs .
