The project draws dance artists , researchers and leading cultural institutions into dialogue about best practice principles to support both choreographers and museums and sustain momentum in theory and practice around dance and the visual arts . It is developing an online toolkit addressing performance conditions , conservation and curatorial practices .
The project prioritises artists ’ needs through its community of practice , engaging a diverse collective of Australian and international artists through workshops , keynotes , surveys and artist case studies . It also consults a broader network of more than 60 artists , curators , archivists , museum educators , theorists and writers through regular dialogues , and closed and public events .
It is commissioning new works to explore protocols in practice and producing an anthology of contemporary work with the National Gallery of Victoria to develop and define this emerging field .
