Restaurant Review
Saturday night is really the best night to go out to eat. You can tell where the good places are to eat then. The Great Dragon in Decorah is no exception. The place was packed with Chinese food lovers, and who wouldn’t want to partake in the beautifully arranged buffet of Chinese and some American delicacies?
The outside of this fine eatery is hidden in a corner of a strip mall located in Decorah, Iowa. They use big signs to show that they are there, so it’s not like we didn’t see it. The seating was pretty fair sized considering how petite the place appeared from the outside. Everything looked very clean and put together. They seemed to rather like showing their Chinese roots; they had Choi in a fish tank next to the door.
Then there was the food. The food was fantastic. I have a sincere love for sesame chicken and The Great Dragon only fed this love further. I also partook in their fried chicken, which was decent but a little too salty for my taste. Then we had this other chicken dish, its breaded chicken. It was very good, perfectly cooked.
The service was excellent. We were seated immediately after entering. The platters on the buffet were always full of freshly cooked and warm food. The staff was nice and weren’t afraid to smile. I wish they would have had time for more conversation, but the atmosphere was too hectic for that.
