S ervice
Jesus said that He“ did not come to be served, but to serve”( Mark 10:45). Being a mentor means that you care. You truly want to see others grow and succeed; and nothing thrills you more than transformation. But don’ t confuse service with being a doormat. We serve with grace and confidence. We don’ t enable others to stay where they are. Instead, we motivate them to move upward and onward. And we are never more like Christ than when we are serving.
Laughter
CRAZY BLESSED
Did you know that almost 50 % of moms are on some type of mood-altering drug, like antidepressants? The Bible tells us,“ a cheerful heart is good medicine.” Laughter doesn’ t just boost your immune system but it dramatically decreases anxiety and stress. Laughter is a mom’ s best friend. Because if you can’ t laugh about some of the junk we go through, you’ re going to drive yourself crazy. Don’ t go crazy. Just learn to laugh and get crazy blessed.
Excellence
We are called to be imitators of God( Ephesians 5:1). He does things with excellence, and so should we. I posted this on my bathroom mirror:“ How you do anything is how you do everything. How are you going to do today?” Every day, I am reminded that I need to model my performance after my Creator. But don’ t get overwhelmed. He doesn’ t call us to be perfect. Instead, He calls us to always be perfecting ourselves. Let excellence mark everything you touch.
Integrity
Having integrity means that you are the same person, no matter what environment you find yourself. A person of integrity has moral standards that are rock-solid, and are not influenced by people, culture, trends, or the enemy’ s tactics. Integrity also makes life so much easier. You don’ t have to worry about covering mistakes or making excuses when you are who you are, no matter what. As a mentor, people need to know they can count on you. Integrity does that.
Growth
Its true— If you’ re not growing, you’ re dying. You’ re either going forward or backward. In the SLEIGH team, we put a lot of emphasis on personal growth because your income, your family, your home life, your health, will never exceed your personal development. We understand that. That’ s the reason for the training, workshops, and personal coaching. We are investing in our personal growth because it always yields a massive return.
Honor
Honor is a rare commodity today. Therefore, when you possess it, it really makes you stand out. We honor others. We listen intently, care deeply, and remember easily. When we honor others, we honor their Creator. Jesus said, people will know we are His disciples“ if we have love for one another”( John 13:35). Love shows up in our culture as honor. When we take our eyes off ourselves and put them on the needs of others, a whole world of promotion opens up. CB
