So I heard there's a lot of things wrong
with having a male bestfriend, as a female. If
the girl is single, their friendship might go
beyond platonic and end up being together
or their friendship might go sour as a result.
Some boyfriends don't even complain out
loud but I heard they don't like it (lowkey).

Some of the reasons I learnt was that
- She might start to make comparisons between her best friend and boo
- She might be very attracted to the bestfriend as he will end up being the relationship
adviser et al
- She will most likely be with the person in vulnerable times for instance, when she
has a fight with boo
Opinions of some guys include;
- She can have male friends but not a best friend
- She's not allowed to have a male best friend but he can have a female bestfriend
because he doesn't trust the other guy
- Her bae should be her bestfriend not some guy
- She might end up leaving boo for the bestfriend
- She can become emotionally attached to the bestfriend
Personally, I think some of the reasons are correct because as soon as I got out a
relationship some years ago, my next boyfriend was my bestfriend. So in the end, the
bestfriends are always there regardless of what you go through but there should
always be boundaries when its someone of the opposite sex. I also think it is not okay
to stop being close to people just because you're in a relationship. Your partner should
learn not to feel threatened by your friendships but you should listen should he feel
something isn't quite right with your friendship with some guy.
