There are over 650 species of crayfish. From crayfish that grow 2 feet, to dwarf crayfish that only grows 2 inches. The first thing you want to look at is the size of tank you have for the crayfish. Most crayfish can live their entire life span in a 15 gallon tank. If you want to have more than one crayfish in a tank I recommend nothing less than a 40 gallon breeder tank. Buy the same species!!! Don't mix different crayfish in the same tank. If you love live plants in your tank know that most crayfish will eat live plants. Dwarf crayfish such as the Mexican dwarf crayfish and Dwarf Cajuns does well with plants. Do your research and learn what fish and plants are compatible with the crayfish you want.
