much more quality screenplay. I will not be not be crossing out lines for actors that cannot remember or didn’t study their lines to begin with. I will not be picking up any actors at their homes and will not be forcing characters in to fill any void. This is going by the book and by the script and I expect it to be a horror film that the horror fans will walk away from with some enjoyment and hopefully a little appreciation of the original film and how far I have come.

IN CLOSING

I have encountered a lot of negativity about my 2003 scarecrow film, but I have also learned to accept it and embrace it. Recently, I’ve seen four websites put it on the best/worst film lists, a podcast do a 2 hour show on it and various other bloggers come out with new critiques that weren’t nearly as brutal as the ones that it had when it was first unleashed on the public. Perhaps RISE OF THE SCARECROWS represents a time in film that some get nostalgic for, a time when you could rent films like it from places like HOLLYWOOD VIDEO or BLOCKBUSTER, or maybe they see the heart in it or the direction I was trying to go. Maybe they just like fat scarecrows and are combatting the fat-shaming that has transpired over the last 10 years. Whatever the case, this film has left its mark and I often get questioned about it first in many interviews.

I hope that everyone is looking forward to my return to scarecrow horror and if you still hate me after this one, I don’t know what to say. There’s no pleasing you.
