Knitted Nativity What you need: Double knitting wool in light and dark blue, white, brown, tan, flesh colour, red, yellow, number 3mm needles, Pipe cleaner, stuffing and elastic cord (optional) Mary: Body and head, staring at the base with blue cast on 13sts Knit 2 rows Inc into every st to end = 26sts Purl 3 rows (this is the fold) Knit 6 rows K2 (K2 tog, K2) to end = 20sts Knit 3 rows K2 (K2 tog, K1) to end = 14sts Knit 1 row K1 (K2 tog) 6 times K1 = 8sts Knit 1 row Change to flesh colour. Knit 1 row Purl 1 row (Inc 1, K1) =12sts Purl 1 row continue in st st for 5 more rows finishing on a knit row Break off wool and thread through sts, draw up tightly.
