Multiple increasing
To work a multiple increase at the beginning of the
row. Work a length of chain for the number of
stitches you wish to add, plus extra chain for the first
stitch [The number of chain depends on the stitch
being used].
Pattern into the chain made, then pattern across the
main section.
To make a multiple increase at the end of a row, join
on a separate ball of wool and work a length of chain
for the number of stitches you wish to add.[You will
not need any extra chain for the first stitch in this
case] fasten off the wool.
Pattern across the main section, then pattern into
each chain you have made.
