Knitted Rose This is a very simple and quick pattern to knit and is ideal for using up oddments of wool. What you will need: 4mm size needles, small amount of red and green dk wool, large sewing needle. With red cast on 70sts and knit 3 rows. Cast off. With red wool thread the sewing needle and make a running stitch along the cast off edge row. Pull the running stitches up making the knitted piece fold up to form the rose. Catch at the underneath with a few stitches to secure. For the steam, Using green cast on 4sts and work in stst starting with a knit row until work measures 7inches. Knit wise into every st =8st P 1 row *K1, k wise into next st* rep from * to * to the end of the row =12sts Beginning with a p row st st 3 rows ** k2 turn and work on these 2 sts only starting with a p row st st 5 rows K2 tog fasten off. Rejoin wool to remaining sts cast off 2st Rep from ** to the end
