mouthwatering deep dive into the sub-
set of Thai cuisine devoted to aahaan
kap klaem (“drinking food”) by chef Andy
Ricker and co-author JJ Goode. Ricker’s
carried a torch for Thailand and its
fare for decades now, and in this grit-
ty pictorial of Thai street food culture
and collection of incredible, authentic
recipes it’s not difficult to understand
why. From approachable dishes like the
ones I’ve featured here to the decidedly
audacious offal-laden and undead—the
Dancing Shrimp are indeed still tango-
ing—I reckon you’ll develop a crush of
your own. I certainly have.
