LIGHT BEER
COLD BEERS AND HIGH TE
QUENCHERS COULD FOR
SUMMER—OR
BY CORI PAIGE
It’s not officially summer until
I have my first glass of chilled,
crisp, spicy Saison in hand—in a
deck chair out back. Perennial
Artisan Ales Saison de Lis has all
I could desire from this Belgian
style with the delicate scent of
chamomile blossom as a bonus.
Brewed with Minnesota
white wheat, honey from
Land of 10,000 Lakes bees,
and Lemondrop hops, In-
deed Brewing Company
Shenanigans Summer Ale
comes in at a respectable
5% abv. And with an itty-bit-
ty IBU count of 14, it’s the
beer your misguided “I hate
IPA” guests are going to
clamor for.
18th Street Brewery’s herb-
al and fruity Lake Street Ex-
press session pale ale is just
on the other side of 4% abv,
but I’m willing to bend half
of a percent for the sake of
added body and flavor.
