What cocktail do you make for yourself after a long day? I love Negronis. I like bitter. When it comes to gin, a Negroni is my go-to. For whiskey, it’s a little more across the board, I’ll ask for a Sazerac at the bar, which works really well with my rye. I’m agnostic with the whiskey, but Negronis are the bomb for me. What does it mean to you to be a heroine in this field? When I heard that moniker I was like, “I can list many of my heroines in this field.” They include Joy Spence and Rachel Barrie-- women out there who have been working in this field before there was interest in women’s roles. And Leslie Gracie from Hendricks who is going to be on a panel I’m attend- ing, and I can’t wait to meet her because I love Hendricks! There are so many ways in which there are opportunities for women out here. When Scott and I started the business, usually the woman would run the business and the man would run the equipment, and for us it is flipped. I’m way better running the equipment, and Scott’s better at running the business. You can find your niche and find your way to stand out among all the big guys out there with more market share and mind share. We are just trying to carve out a living for ourselves and make better whiskey every day. Just being here in the conversation and making exceptional products … if that makes me a heroine, I’ll take it! © Hundred-to-One LLC 2018. All rights reserved.
