NEVERTHELESS, I KEPT COMING BACK TO RICH WOODS’ THE COCKTAIL GUY ($24), AND, ULTIMATELY, THIS BRIT’S LIST OF FRESH GARDEN INGREDIENTS AND HOMEMADE CONCOCTIONS—WITH CONCISE DIRECTIONS THAT MAKE EVEN THE MOST DIFFICULT COCKTAILS IN HIS BOOK SEEM IDIOT-PROOF—WON OUT. MANY OF YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO RECREATE ALL OF THE COMPONENTS AT HOME—HOME DISTILLING IN MOST PARTS OF THE WORLD IS STILL A NO- NO, BUT RICH WOODS’ COCKTAIL AND SPIRIT RECIPES ARE SURE TO INSPIRE YOU TO DO SOME TRIALING OF YOUR OWN IN THE KITCHEN AND BEHIND THE BAR.
