During the Slow Season
Parents know that as summer stretches on , they are bound to hear their children say the dreaded words , “ I ’ m bored !” At that point , it ’ s time to get creative , coming up with activities to keep those kids busy . Store owners can do the same for their customers during the slow summer months .
One way to do this is by engaging your customers through marketing . It ’ s easy to assume that if it ’ s a slow season , you don ’ t need to put as much effort into promoting your store . But the opposite is true . Give your customers a reason to visit . Email them with weekly deals . Send them a handwritten note with a gift card . Mail catalogs as a way to entice them to come in because of the products advertised .
